Lancot Lower School provides education for both boys and girls of all abilities from the age of 3 years through to 9 years.

The school operates an integrated Foundation Unit (ages 3+ and 4+), two classes in each year group from Year 1 to Year 4 and a six place class for vulnerable children with emotional difficulties. We ensure that no class contains more than 30 children.

In Key Stage 1, children typically work in mixed ability classes, with age ranges of not more than one academic year. Key Stage 2 classes may be set for Literacy and Numeracy.

During a typical day a child's work may involve whole class teaching, small group work as well as individual assignments. At Lancot we pride ourselves on the broad and balanced curriculum we are able to offer the children.

Children are all different, with different strengths, talents and abilities. At Lancot we try to offer them the opportunities to develop these attitudes, concepts and skills through a combination of structured learning during normal school hours and by providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities with our increasing number of after school clubs.
